Short answer: the school holidays are a great time to start chess or speed up. Fat Cat Chess Academy is open every day from 9:00 to 19:00, students can take more classes per week during the holidays, and there are weekday daytime classes that children usually miss during term.
Why the holidays work well
- Weekday daytime classes, not only weekends.
- More frequent classes, so lessons build on each other while they are fresh.
- Time to practise and solve puzzles at home between classes.
- A chance to prepare for a first tournament: the academy’s Intramural or rapid events.
